Part 2: Singing &
Studying
After high school, I thumbed ny nose at Horace Greeley
and headed east. I traveled by train, alone for three dais in
an increasingly uncomfortable chair. It seemed romantic. My
parents met me in New York. (Well, they'd met me before of
course. You know what I mean. Don't nit-pick.)
At Amherst College I met the astonishing Albert
Shmitzu, in his many forms, and succumbed to his eclectic
brilliance...and Wyborowa. I also stumbled onto the
stage, most particularly in Gilbert & Sullivan productions
as the "patter comedian."
Oh yes, there were some classes too.
I managed to graduate as a double major, clutching a Magna
Cum Laude degree in History and English.
